Severiano Ballesteros - BBC Lifetime Achievement Award

1) The late Severiano Ballesteros or Seve is Spanish golf player that contributed a lot to the sport. His immense contributions to the golf world noticeable through his participation in European Ryder Cup team and help to raise the status of European Tour competition.

2) Seve was widely known for his great short games, his desire, passion and charisma
for the sport. And most of all his humble attitude has affected great admiration among his counterparts, friends and foes. Therefore I think this lifetime achievement awards clearly suits to its recipient.

3) This award was presented by his close friend a Spanish counterpart and Ryder Cup partner Jose - Maria Olazabal at his home.

4) Seve died on 7 May 2011 after being diagnosed with malignant brain tumor after lost his consciousness at Madrid - Barajas Airport and was admitted to hospital on 6 October 2008. Since then he underwent series of operations to remove his brain tumor but unfortunately the only good die young fate came and nobody could escape of god summons.

5) I am sure the world of golf and especially the whole European continent will miss him dearly. To Severiano Ballesteros - may his soul rest in peace.
